Help with the cost of a prison visit
If you are the close relative or partner of a prisoner and you are in receipt of certain benefits or on a low income you may be eligible for help with your travel costs from the Help with Prison Visits service. You can find out more here.
To apply, you will need a prison visit form stamped by the prison. You can print this form and complete section A before your visit. Alternatively forms are available when you visit.

If you are unsure which prison a prisoner is located in, or to confirm an individual's details, please use the Prisoner Location Service. Our general enquiries line is not able to provide this information. Please remember a prisoner must give permission for their details to be shared.
